After listening to and reading some of Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven students were walked through identifying figurative language being used by Poe. The homework due on Monday is to cite three examples each of alliteration, assonance, and/or simile/metaphor. Today with our shortened day we took the opportunity to do peer edits on our final drafts of our spooky stories. These will get one more touchup before being submitted for publishing next week.
For students who forgot the words we are working with for this assignment I have added them on here with the addition of 3. Please give a definition, a sentence, and an image or symbol to represent the word.
Through no fault of my own though I take full blame, technology isn't being my friend today and so tonight's homework will be delayed one more day. Thanks for your patients. Today we did a short section on figurative language. This packet must be completed by Friday to be included in our writing binder. ![]()
Today we focused our attention back to The Hitchhiker and a made for TV adaptation for The Twilight Zone. Students are to compare the two works and note what is the same and what is different between the two versions. ![]()
