I have been fortunate enough to have success with projects and Donorschoose.com in the past. I am at time asking for anyone to offer up some help in our class obtaining quality microphones for our production and podcasting we are going to be doing in class. Please check out the link below. If you know anyone interested in donating to the project just direct them to the link.

Students used their class time today to finish their self and peer edits. These are detailed assignments that will be included as scores on their final grade for the project. This serves as a chance to make sure everything is done right on their expository essays, including parenthetical citations, work cited pages, topic sentences, thesis statements, and details.
Final Drafts are due typed and printed with all previous papers by the end of class tomorrow.
Students needed to have their rough drafts completed today in order to receive their self assessment forms. These will be graded along with all other papers for this expository essay.
Students had to run their thesis statement by me today for evaluation and tweaking as needed in order to get approval for rough draft writing. This step is included in the final grade for the expository essay.
Students today got a chance to work on and have their outline evaluated if their graphic organizer was in good shape. This outline focuses on topic sentences and supporting details. This is due by Friday 1/19.
Students got a graphic organizer to start developing the order in which they will build their expository essay. Once this is completed students will get an outline to further develop this. The graphic organizer is due Wednesday 1/17
Students started their expository essay unit today by restating the writing prompt in their own words. This is to better understand what they are writing about, and to possibly help in potential writing phrases for their own essay.
Students then got a resources worksheet that asks for 8 quotes or details they plan to sue for their essay and the citation information. students may use the textbook or the online resources available through StudySync. This worksheet is due by Friday 1/12.
