Today's dunes expanded on their realistic fiction summary paragraph. They did this by creating notes about the setting of the realistic fiction, notes about the characters in their realistic fiction, and finally, the address their conflict in the story.
Their homework is to turn each one of these into its own their own paragraph
We discussed what makes a story Realistic Fiction as a genre and what things teenagers would be apt to write about in a realistic fiction novel today.
We tackled a lot today. We watched Flocab Week in Rap. We got our packets that go with it that are due on Tuesday.
Students got a chance to reflect on their Close and Critical reading progress, got their last C&C back, and got their new packet today. Some classtime was allotted for this. This will be due on Monday. Students are trying to test out on these, so they may be asking others for editing help.
Students watched the read section of the play and now must create a character map that explains the different characters and how they relate to each other. This is due on Friday 4/24.
Today students went through a quick presentation on How the Brain Works. Students gathered general information, took notes, and discussed key elements of how the brain functions and the main parts of the brain.
