Background
In ELA, you have been reading the realistic-fiction novel, The Breadwinner. While the characters in the story are fictional, Deborah Ellis wrote the book based off of stories, which she heard during her time working with Afghan refugees in 1997, about experiences, lives and intense struggles of Afghan people.

Project Assignment
When the US troops were withdrawn from Afghanistan at the end of 2014, many Afghans feared that issues occurring within Afghanistan would no longer be a topic of global conversation and Afghanistan would be forgotten about. Here’s where you come in.

Using the website, www.mrakansonline.com as a home-base, you be assigned an issue in Afghanistan to research and report on to educate and inform others on by creating an informational poster and presentation with researched information on the problems, relevant pictures, and suggested solutions in attempting to help the situation.
